What We Do
Pacific Health Associates preserves the historic community role and values of PacificSource by appointing, on-boarding and supporting outstanding PacificSource Board members.
We increase the impact of PacificSource through our financial gifts to the foundation and other nonprofit organizations that improve the health and wellness of our communities.
We protect and support the unique values of PacificSource through our work and relationship with PacificSource, Legacy Health and the PacificSource Foundation.
We manage our investments for the benefit of the PacificSource Foundation and our communities.

Patricia Schmitt
President
Ms. Schmitt is a retired CPA and former assurance partner in a large CPA firm. Her clients included Health Plans and health care providers among other industries. In addition to PHA, Ms. Schmitt is the President on the Pacific Health Associates. Ms. Schmitt served on the PacificSource Board of Directors from 2014-2023.

Mr. Saydack is a retired attorney and was one of the founding members of Arnold Gallagher. Prior to that he was on the Executive Team of PeaceHealth in Oregon where he served first as Vice President for Legal Affairs and later as Vice President for Strategy, Innovation and Development, and then as Chief Operating Officer and Administrator of Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. In addition to the PHA Board, Mr. Saydack is a designee on the PacificSource Board of Directors.

Martin Gabica, MD

Dr. Martin J. “Marty” Gabica is a board-certified family practice physician and the retired chief medical officer (CMO) at Healthwise. Prior to being named CMO in 2010, he was a medical director and associate medical director for Healthwise. In addition to PHA, Dr. Gabica sits on the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Board and has served as President of the IPN Board.

Dr. Steven. D Marks served as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director for PacificSource for over 12 years, retiring in 2012. Before joining PacificSource in 2000, he was Medical Director for McKenzie Health Care, a hospital and 200-physician PHO in Springfield, Oregon. In addition to PHA, Dr. Marks sits on the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Board.

Director
Dr. Karl Watts specializes in family medicine at St. Alphonsus in Boise, ID. He also is co-founder and chairman of Genesis Community Health, a Christian outreach committed to meet the physical, spiritual and medical needs of under resourced people both locally and internationally. In addition to PHA, Dr. Watts sits on the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Board.

Mr. Dahlberg was CEO of St. Luke’s Health System from 1988-2010. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, he was Executive Director of the Bozeman Deaconess Foundation and Hospital, Long Term Care and Retirement Facility in Bozeman, Montana and eight years as CEO of Cuyuna Range District Hospital in Crosby, Minnesota. In addition to PHA, Mr. Dahlberg sits on the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Board and is a designee on the PacificSource Board of Directors.

After serving for more than 10 years as the CFO of Morrison Child and Family Services, Mr. Slick currently holds the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives. Morrison Child and Family Services is the largest children’s behavioral health organization in Oregon. In addition to PHA, Mr. Slick sits on the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Board.

Sabrina Parsons is one of today’s preeminent female tech CEOs, advocating for entrepreneurs and working mothers around the world. She is a graduate of Princeton University and has served as the CEO of Palo Alto Software since 2007.

Kurt Liebich

Kurt Liebich has served on the boards of numerous educational nonprofit organizations, including Idaho Business for Education, Project Lead the Way, Riverstone International School, and the Lee Pesky Center. He recently served as a valued member of Governor Little’s ‘Our Kids, Idaho’s Future’ task force to strengthen public education in Idaho. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Boise-based RedBuilt LLC and New Wood Resources LLC. RedBuilt is a supplier of engineered structural solutions and New Wood Resources is a veneer and plywood products operation. Mr. Liebich also has served on the executive management team for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation, one of the world’s largest integrated forest products companies. Mr. Liebich earned an MBA in General Management from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Bowdoin College in Maine.
